Half term week was drawing to a close so lots of holiday charters going off to bring may half term holiday goers back to the UK! During summer 2014 runway 23L has got new re-opening times, meaning its used (like before) between 06:30 & 10:30 but it then re-opens at 13:00, earlier than before, meaning even more close up departures from 23L! For some reason between 28th May and June 11th the daily Emirates A380 is unable to use 23L, so that departed from runway 23R, but I was just happy we got the Virgin 747 departing close up. Filmed from 6:30am until 10:30am, then from 1pm on-wards again when the runway re-opened. The Thomson 767 at the beginning was the very first departure from RWY23L of the day!
