TARGET 1977 (S1E1) Shipment

Hackett follows up on information about dodgy dealings aboard an international cargo ship provided by a murdered snitch. TARGET - Series 1 - Episode 1 - "Shipment" Originally broadcast 9th September 1977 Created by Graham Williams Written by David Wickes & Philip Hinchcliffe Theme music by Dudley Simpson Produced by Philip Hinchcliffe Directed by David Wickes TARGET was a BBC1 UK Crime Series which ran for 2 series between 1977-1978 consisting of 17 episodes shot entirely on film instead of utilizing both studio & location filming. Whereas Series 1 contained nitty gritty violence & nudity Series 2 was more conservatively low key in comparison to appease critics. TARGET was considered for a third season with a new cast but the idea faded away & interest soon disappeared - TARGET needed someone with the courage to continue with the original concept but it was another lost opportunity.
