When a pensioner is discovered murdered in his bed, all suspicion falls on his son-in-law, with whom he shared a mutual dislike. But the murder of another pensioner later on complicates things for Taggart and Jardine, who struggle to find a link between the two crimes. As they delve deeper into the cases they uncover blackmail, faith healers and old buried secrets. And could an old Care Home have any connection at all with the case, or could it be something they haven't even considered yet?
Starring Mark McManus, James MacPherson, Eve Pearce, David Rintoul, Georgine Anderson, Russell Hunter, Bill Leadbitter, Fletcher Mathers, Norman Eshley, Jennifer Piercey, Barbara Horne, Liam Brennan, Alec Westwood, Sheila Donald, Mandy Matthews, Pauline Bett, Phyllida Hewat, Harriet Buchan, Iain Anders, Robert Robertson, plus the first appearance of Blythe Duff as WPC Jackie Reid, who would become a permanent fixture in Taggart. For me this is one of the best Taggart mysteries, and as you would expect is a complex and baffling mystery, ably supported by a few familiar faces among the suspects, such as David Rintoul *Dr Finlay), Russell Hunter (Callan) and Norman Eshley (George & Mildred) to name a few. This is from my own collection, so apologies in advance for any glitches.
