In 1838, in the fictional city of Wisborg, Thomas Hutter, a young notary clerk who had made a happy marriage with Ellen, must leave for Transylvania in order to sell a property to Count Orlok, who wishes to have a residence in the city. After a journey through a land of shadows, the young man is welcomed into a sinister castle by the count. During the transaction, Orlok sees a miniature of Ellen, which fascinates him and decides to acquire the building - close to the couple's house - which is offered to him. Hutter, host of the count, will not delay to discover the true nature of this one. Then Nosferatu will journey to his new home, spreading in his wake an epidemic of plague. Ellen, soon prey to the clawed hands of Nosferatu who covets her, will let the count make her his victim and sacrifices her blood to the vampire to save the city hit by the plague.
