Goya's palette ranges from cheerful, pleasant and colorful paintings that show the life of the Spanish people, to grim, strange and scary canvases called the "black paintings" of the last period. Between the two, a cut… Goya becomes deaf. Through paintings, drawings and engravings, the film questions the reasons which pushed Goya, painter of the King's Chamber, precursor of modern painting and fabulous portrait painter, to become the relentless witness of the atrocities of his time.
