"The Heaven I Need" from The Three Degrees is an R&B/Hi-NRG track produced by the emerging "Hit Factory" trio, Stock, Aitken and Waterman (SAW). It combines the classic Philly Soul group and the iconic 80s pop producers and was the last minor hit in the UK, reaching number 42 before Sheila Ferguson left the group. In the Netherlands it reached number 33. The Three Degrees is an American female vocal group, which was originally formed in 1965 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The original members were Fayette Pinkney, Shirley Porter and Linda Turner. Porter and Turner were soon replaced by Janet Harmon and Helen Scott. The line-up from 1967 to 1976 was Pinkney, Valerie Holiday and Sheila Ferguson, who would go on to sing lead on most of the group's biggest hits. This recording is from Dutch program TROS TV Show and broadcasted on December 12, 1985.
